More than basketball.
Founded in 2023, Jr Hoops is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit youth basketball league in Glendale, California — built to help every kid grow through the game.
Jr Hoops features a youth basketball league dedicated to providing players with a supportive and inclusive environment to learn and enjoy the game. We're powered by LA Select, a prestigious AAU club established in 2011. With over a decade of expertise in competitive travel basketball, LA Select now brings that experience to the recreational level.
Our approach puts the fun back into fundamental basketball learning — a positive, enjoyable experience for every young player, regardless of skill level.

What's included
Jr Hoops features
Every membership comes with a pro-style experience built to help kids improve and love the game.
10-week seasons
Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter
Structured practices and competitive games run year-round, so players stay active and keep improving in a fun, supportive environment.
2 weekly practices
18–20 total per season
Teams practice twice a week, focusing on fundamentals, teamwork, and confidence. With Week 1 as a bye, teams get 3–4 practices before their first game.
1 weekly game
7–9 total per season
Each team plays one game per week — real-game experience where players apply their skills, learn from competition, and grow together.
Knowledgeable coaches
Experienced & trained
All coaches are background-checked and internally trained. Beyond skills and strategy, they mentor players and build confidence on and off the court.
Professional officials
HS / college certified
Games are officiated by certified high-school and college-level referees to ensure fairness, integrity, and a high-quality experience.
